Hannah's Last 1st Birthday Party

Hannah had her last 1st Birthday Party today. She had so much fun with the friends and family that came. Her Aunt Jenny and Cousin Dylan even came all the way from St. Louis to share in the fun! Hannah received so, so many nice gifts. Everyone was so thoughtful and generous. Here are some pictures from the day.

Hannah turns 1

We had a official Hannah turning 1 birthday dinner tonight. Uncle Sterling and Aunt Catherine made you the yummiest chocolate cake! You received somewonderful gifts and had a great time opening and playing with them. Thank you everyone for your help and support over the past year. From food to babysitting we've appreciated everything!

Happy 1st Birthday Our Little Love!

You were born on Monday, August 20th, 2007 at 10:45 PM. It was a typical August day in Austin.....hot and humid. We went to the hospital at 10 AM and Dr. Mills came in an checked Mommy. Mommy and Daddy hung out all day waiting for your arrival. (Mommy didn't have a choice, I had an epidural, I wasn't going anywhere)! Around 7 PM Dr. Mills came in and checked Mommy again and again at 8 PM, then 9 PM, and no progress! By 10 PM Dr. Mills decided that you had to be delivered via c-section. Mommy and Daddy were so scared. Exactly at 10:45 PM you were born. You had the cord wrapped twice around your neck. Dr. Mills said, "It's a GIRL" and "She's soooo cute". You had the cuttest round face, squishy cheeks, a head full of dark hair, and you let out the sweetest cry we'd ever heard. Daddy went with you to the nursery and while they cleaned you up, you held onto Daddy's finger. You knew that was your Daddy. Mommy finally got to hold you and feed you for the first time around 1 AM. I was so tired, but so happy to finally meet you face to face.

We've never been the same since. You've brought so much joy, happiness, excitement, wonder, and love to our life. Your smile is beautiful, your laugh is infectious, your personality is bubbly, and your curiosity is amazing to watch. You have had such a busy year. You've grown from 7 lb 12 oz to 22 lbs. You've tried such things a sweet potatoes, green beans, chicken, yogurt, mixed veggies, and veggie burgers. Your favorite things to play with are kitchen bowls, cell phones, "woo, woo's", blocks, and your pink and white blankie.

Hannah Banana Bear, we love you more than words. We're so thankful for the unconditional love that we never knew existed. You're a blessing. We thank God for you everyday.

In all one year's time.........we've gone from just us to a threesome. Wouldn't change it for the world.

Party 1 of 3!

Hannah had her first FIRST birthday party today at "school". I made carrot cake "cupcakes". They were healthy cupcakes with applesauce instead of sugar. I figure I'll give her the real deal on her birthday (thanks to Uncle Sterling and Aunt Catherine)! I put the party hat on her and as she ran away, I had to take another look to see who that big girl was toddling away so fast. It's amazing how time goes by so fast, and how fast she has gotten to be such a big girl. Not the 7 lb 12 oz little love we brought home 364 days ago.

In honor of Hannah turning O-N-E this week....

we did our monthly photo shoot. This one was extra challenging now that she's walking, teething, and full of personality. Hannah Banana, Mommy and Daddy can't believe that you'll be ONE in a couple days. Our world has never been the same and we wouldn't change it for anything! We love you more than you know.

My new red wagon!

Happy Early Birthday to ME! Grandma Toni bought me a wagon for my birthday. Daddy couldn't wait to put in together and put me in it! I had a blast! I'm looking forward to many more trips around the block.

My boyfriend Jack invited me to his 1st Birthday Party today. I had so much fun playing with Jack, all of his toys, and even made some new friends! Jack, we sure have had a great first year. Our parents are so lucky to have us. I'm right behind you for the big #1!!! Love, Hannah
