First Day of Pre-K!

Hannah was up, dressed, and had eaten breakfast by 6:30 AM!  She was just a little excited about her first day of Pre-K.  She walked down the hall to Mrs. Smith's class and signed her name in all by herself.  We gave hugs and kisses and she sat down with her classmate and started making the letter "H" out of play-doh.  It's half day this week and when we picked her up at 11:30 she said she cried during lunch because other Mommies were there and I wasn't, but she didn't cry too long when she found out she could have pizza for lunch (and it's not even Friday.......Friday is pizza day in our  house)!

Who Are We? Rainbow Rangers!

Hannah attended her first cheerleader camp last week at Bowie HS.  I was so jealous.  I wanted to attend cheer camp too!  I remember being in junior high and high school attending cheer camp, and had THE BEST TIME!  Hannh had a great time, despite the mascots.  (she is terrified of mascots!!!!)

Hannah's "sister", Olivia

When Hannah went to the beach she met Olivia who they affectionately call each other "sisters".  Olivia is 9 and Hannah thinks she is fabulous!  Thanks to technology, Hannah and Olivia are able to Sype each other.  They haven't seen each other since the beach and when they connected tonight over Skype they both said, "I miss you"!  It was so sweet and makes me super thankful for her experience at the beach, for meeting new friends, and for the ability to re-connect with the help of the computer.

Happy 4th of July!

We spent the day enjoying the simple things of life.....playing on the slip n' slide with Brady and Katie, bbq'ing, playing dress up, making homeade potato salad, planting new plants in the flower bed....

Is that what I REALLY sound like? A humbling Mommy post.......

I borrowed this from a Mollie (http://molliedonovan.blogspot.com/) as I frequent her blog oogling at her beautiful photography, but also I think she's just as fabulous a person.

"No one else will ever know the strength of my LOVE for you.  After all, you're the only one that knows what my heart sounds like from the inside."  Mollie also goes on to share about a book that she's reading titled, "How We Love Our Kids"......in the first chapter of the book (as Mollie shares), "Kids have a natural knack for revealing the things we like least about ourselves. Even shortcomings we’re completely unaware of, things we deny, things we’ve successfully hidden for years. All of them suddenly begin to parade around your neat little life when you have children.".....GULP.  The little Miss Hannah is quite independent, talkative, bossy, precocious, smart, and sassy at times......double-GULP.....Richard said, if he closes his eyes, and hears the chatter of bossy-sassy, he's not sure who's talking, me or Hannah.....triple-GULP.  I hope Hannah not only knows how much I LOVE her has a Mom, but also as her own person, her own fabulous, bossy, smart, beautiful, funny, independant, wonderful person.
